And no I didn’t post before midnight, drat! Tomorrow!
Emanation, Monotype of the Day #160
Tomorrow is another day. My goal is to post before midnight! Send me some good energy and thoughts. As my favorite children’s book taught: I think I can, I think I can, I think I can! I must get more sleep! xo.
Dreaming, Monotype of the Day #159
Annunciation, Monotype of the Day #158
Enjoying making, surrendering to the process.

Out of black paper for now 😊.
the artist has ears, Monotype of the Day #156
I would have worked this image again but this was my last piece of black paper. I used titanium white instead of opaque white and I wasn’t able to get all the swirls that I did last night. Very interesting. Even though the opaque white it difficult to work, I like effect better.
Partners, Monotype of the Day #155
I’m finding this white difficult to work with. It’s opaque white not my usual titanium, but I’m loving the black paper. Excited to see what happens when I actually get the hang of it!
Bird Song, Monotype of the Day #154
Playing with white ink on black paper. The working properties of the white are so different. There’s definitely a learning curve.
Portrait of My Hands
Amazing photographer Katinka Neuhof took this picture of my ink covered hands. This is how much I can open my hands. By thinking outside of the box I’m able to do a lot of things that you might think aren’t possible.
the artist in repose, Monotype of the Day #153
All week there have been images of struggle, anger, falling until last night when the figure was cradled. Tonight this simple peaceful image of surrender and trust came through. No extra color, no breaking out, just being. I think I will sleep well tonight.
The Egg, Monotype of the Day #152
Helping Hand, Monotype of the Day #151
The Dream, Monotype of the Day #150
Often, my pieces portend my future. This bodes well for me, maybe I will start getting more sleep! Coming soon, monotypes posted before 2am!
the artist will not!, Monotype of the Day #149
Experimenting is one of the funnest parts of being an artist. Black paper is so interesting to work with. Excited to explore this further… As a creative person, it’s important to protect your time….
the artist feels boxed in, Monotype of the Day #148
I’m conflicted about the title tonight. “the artist must listen” or “the artist doesn’t want to listen” or even “the artist is pissed off” All three can be true. But in the end the artist has to deal with their resistance and does listen so the title is:
