From the last month of Sybil’s Monotype of the Day Project, floating exemplifies her transformation from struggle to release over the course of the project. The boat represents the release of ego, so that we may become vessels to bear light into the world. It is also one of her Inner Life of the Monotype pieces, featuring augmented reality capabilities!

Remembrance XVii, day 60

From Sybil’s Remembrance Series, Remembrance XVII is a monotype version of one of her late father’s travel photos, his favorite activity. Through the Remembrance Series, Sybil processed the deep grief of his passing and expressed ongoing spiritual connection. This monotype is based on a photo taken from the back of a ship in the Pacific Ocean.

Emanation describes an interior space of inspiration and creativity. It is also the cover of her recently released art book and memoir, The Inner of Life of the Artist. In this one of a kind art book, Sybil chronicles the Monotype of the Day Project and her triumph over the trauma of chronic illness using the redemptive power of art.
