Discover sybil’s work
“More than 27 years ago, I was told I had 5 years to live. Using art as an agent of change and healing, I’m still here thriving today. Welcome to my website! I invite you to join me on my journey of transformation. My life’s work is to explore and reveal how sacred creative energy passes through our world transforming everything it meets. I chase these moments of transformation through printmaking, sculpture, collage, and painting.”
The inner life of the artist
The Inner Life of the Artist: 900 Monotypes in 900 Days is a transformative work that chronicles Sybil’s Monotype of the Day project. Part art book, part memoir, The Inner Life of the Artist lays open the most intimate moments in Sybil’s studio, telling a story of struggle and transformation. The art is paired with works by more than 30 scared poets, giving the reader rare insight into the healing nature of art. Click here to discover her transformation in detail.
Monotype of the day project
From 2018-2020, for 900 days in a row, Sybil made a monotype every single day without fail. At the beginning of this process, she was gravely ill with a rare autoimmune disease. She credits this daily practice of creating art for catalyzing a spiritual and physical health transformation that regained her the ability to eat solid foods. Augmented reality work
Augmented reality (AR) is an enhanced version of the real world, accessible on any device. Sybil uses this technology to project animations onto real world monotypes to reveal deeper meanings of a piece in a series she calls “The Hidden Life of the Monotype.”
